DEVELOP LEADERS
TO CULTIVATE THE NEXT GENERATION OF INFLUENCERS
Congressional Leadership Development Program
Muslims have always been part of the fabric of America but absent from centers of influence. To increase our impact, we develop and empower talented individuals to become the next generation of American Muslim leaders. In 2023, CLDP welcomed 20 young Muslim leaders from 12 different states.
The Congressional Leadership Development Program (CLDP) serves as a fast-track for passionate and driven young Muslims interested in a career in public service.
We place fellows into Capitol Hill internship positions
Through our networks, we place CLDP fellows into an internship position with a member of Congress on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. Fellows walk the halls of Congress with Senators, Congressman and policy makers. This experience allows our fellows to understand the legislative process from the inside and learn how they can shape policy through their respective professions.
We provide networking and mentorship opportunities
Fellows attend panels with some of the most influential individuals in Washington, D.C. and the country. They meet and spend time with distinguished leaders from various professions, learning from the life experiences of leaders who were once in the same shoes as them. Meant to take fellows out of their comfort zones, these exercises are a source of personal and professional growth. With these tools and practice, we prepare fellows to return to their communities ready to step into leadership positions on the Hill, in non-profits, university organizations, and more.
INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS
Our internships are located in our Washington, DC and Los Angeles offices. Every internship focuses on supporting our mission to improve public understanding and policies that impact American Muslims by engaging our government, media, and communities.
